Ceremony is a solo exhibition by Nensi Avetisian that explores how clothing accompanies us through life's most significant moments - from weddings and baptisms to funerals. Yet ceremony also lives in the everyday: in how we dress for a quick walk, choose an outfit for work, or prepare for a special occasion.

Unfolding in two chapters, Ceremony (Fall-Winter 2025) considers the pursuit of beauty across cultures and history - from Indigenous adornments to the Belle Époque - showing how clothing has always carried decoration, emotion, and meaning. Post Ceremony (Spring-Summer 2026) continues this narrative by questioning where and how we value beauty in clothing. In a world of synthetics and mass production, the exhibition proposes not rejection but rethinking: can the ordinary become extraordinary, and can machine-made materials themselves hold beauty.

Together, these collections expand the exhibition's inquiry into how clothing becomes both witness and participant - an object of beauty, a vessel of memory, and a medium of ritual, whether sacred or mundane.
